Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a professional field that helps people solve socially important problems, both for the individual and for the benefit of society and the culture at large. ABA seeks to establish and strengthen useful skills and positive behaviors.

Behavior Analysts are broadly interested in the science of human behavior and learning. They seek to:

  • Improve specific behaviors instead of focusing on labels or “traits”
  • Analyze and describe current environmental events affecting learner behaviors
  • Alter environmental events to improve learning
  • Use evidence-based treatment procedures
  • Measure behavior change
  • Precisely implement data driven interventions

Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc.®

ABAI (Association for Behavior Analysis International) Accreditation Board

The ABAI Accreditation Board is responsible for the Verified Course Sequence (VCS) for credentialing in the field of ABA.
